Peta Briner Family Therapy and Counselling

Welcome. I’m Peta – a family therapist, based in Wickham Terrace, Brisbane with over 30 years of experience providing therapy and counselling services.

I aim to provide a confidential service in which my clients feel compassionately understood, with a focus on how to move forward using practical ideas, interpretation and strategies to make life more satisfying and meaningful.

My expertise lies in understanding and assisting people with relationship difficulties.  As a family therapist, I am particularly interested in helping people change those aspects of their relationships which are repeatedly problematic. The impact of difficulties on key relationships is a central theme.

First session

Some people are familiar with talking about themselves and their personal circumstances, others not so.  You may be a little anxious about your first session, which is completely understandable.

One of my favourite comments from clients is that their session was just like a good conversation with interesting questions.

In family sessions, family members will not be pressured to contribute.
